Title:  Bridges of God
Author:  Lenore Lang

Bridges? Why Bridges?
Shouldn’t that be singular?
Wasn’t Jesus our Bridge?
And He was just ONE.

That’s what I learned
A while ago.
Quite awhile, actually.
Jesus a Bridge between……

Between God and me.
My sin created the abyss
I couldn’t cross over
Not ever, over.

Jesus on the cross
Made a bridge
I could walk on
To reach the other side,

The side where God is
Waiting – for me to come.
I did it! -- I’ve come!
Hallelujah!

And now I’ve heard the phrase
Bridges of God.
Is that true?
Why Bridges?

Is there something here
For me to learn,
To think about,
To DO?

I should be a bridge?
How can that be?
Why? How?
Ah, I get it now:

I can be a bridge
For people to walk on
To come to God.
He’s waiting.

Hospitality? --  a bridge?
My house,  table,  food?
A bridge?
His Word says Yes.

My heart echoes another Yes.
Bridges of God.
You’re waiting, Lord,
Patiently.

Help me not to wait too long
To be a Bridge,
So others too may shout:
HALLELUJAH!
